Evoltech Malta · 3D printing to order · https://evoltechmalta.com
Effective date: 01/09/2026
Evoltech Malta takes care of your personal data the same way we take care of your prints: only what is needed, handled with attention, and nothing wasted. This policy explains what we collect when you browse our website or order a 3D print from us, why we collect it, who sees it, and how you stay in control. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Maltese Data Protection Act (Chapter 586).
1. Who we are
The data controller is Evoltech Malta, the business behind https://evoltechmalta.com. For anything about your data, contact us at info@evoltechmalta.com.
2. What we collect and why
2.1 When you place an order
To make and deliver your print we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give one), delivery and billing address, and the details of your order, such as material, colour, quantity and any notes you add. We use this to confirm your order, produce it, arrange delivery or collection, issue invoices and keep you updated. Our legal basis is performing the contract with you, and meeting our legal and tax obligations.
2.2 Your 3D model files
If you upload a design file (for example STL, 3MF, STEP or OBJ), we use it only to quote, check and print your order. We treat your designs as yours: we do not reuse, publish, sell or share them, and we do not print additional copies for ourselves or anyone else. Please avoid uploading files that contain personal information in their file names or metadata.
2.3 Payments
Payments are handled by [insert payment provider(s), e.g. Stripe, PayPal, Revolut]. We do not see or store your full card details. We only receive confirmation that a payment was made, together with the amount and a reference.
2.4 Contacting us and support
If you email us or use a contact or quote form, we keep the messages and your contact details so we can answer you and handle any follow-up, such as a reprint or a complaint.
2.5 Your account (if you create one)
If you register on the website, we store the details you provide in your profile, such as name, email, addresses and order history, so future orders are quicker. You can view, edit or delete this information at any time, except your username. Site administrators can also see and edit it. If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.
2.6 Comments (if enabled)
Where visitors can comment, we collect what is entered in the form plus your IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam. A hashed (anonymised) version of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check whether you have a profile picture; its policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Approved comments, and your profile picture if you have one, are public.
2.7 Cookies
We use a small number of cookies:
- Essential cookies that keep your basket and session working and, if you log in, remember you for two days (two weeks if you choose “Remember Me”). Login cookies are removed when you log out.
- Convenience cookies that save your display choices for up to one year, and, if you comment, your name, email and website for one year so you do not have to retype them.
- A temporary test cookie on the login page that checks your browser accepts cookies. It holds no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
- Analytics or marketing cookies: [state any you use, e.g. Google Analytics; if none, delete this line]. Where required, we will ask for your consent first.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the shop may not work properly without the essential ones.
2.8 Embedded content
Some pages may embed content from other sites, such as videos or maps. Those sites may set their own cookies and collect data about you, as though you had visited them directly. We do not control this, so please check their privacy policies.
3. Who we share your data with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only where needed to run your order:
- Couriers and postal services,Malta Post, DHL, who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your parcel.
- Payment providers, as described in section 2.3.
- Website hosting, email and spam-protection providers, who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
- Accountants and authorities, where we are legally required to keep or disclose records.
If any of these providers is outside the European Economic Area, we make sure the transfer is covered by the safeguards the GDPR requires.
4. How long we keep your data
- Order and invoice records: for as long as Maltese tax and accounting law requires (generally six years).
- Your 3D model files: deleted 6 Months after your order is completed, unless you ask us to keep them for reorders or ask us to delete them sooner.
- Messages and support enquiries: for One Year, or longer if needed to resolve a dispute.
- Account details: until you delete your account or ask us to.
- Comments: kept with their metadata until you ask us to remove them, so follow-up comments are recognised and not held for moderation.
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy in a portable format;
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
- ask us to erase your data;
- ask us to restrict, or object to, our processing of it;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
Erasure does not cover records we are legally obliged to keep, such as invoices, or data we need for security or to defend a legal claim. To use any of your rights, email us at the address above. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within one month.
6. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please talk to us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to Malta’s supervisory authority, the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC), at https://idpc.org.mt.
7. Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and the effective date above. Please check back from time to time.
